Welcome

I am a Physical Education Teacher with a strong academic background, including a Masters Degree in secondary education and several professional developmental experiences, a variety of teaching experiences, and a holistic approach to education that involves the growth of the whole child. I have fourteen years of teaching experience, including teaching in the private environment, which includes a year at a catholic school and two years at a community center.  Eleven years of public school teaching experience are in Prince George’s County Public Schools, and I have taught health for a year through a Title I grant at a Howard County Public School.

Through my teaching experiences, especially in Prince George’s County Public Schools, I have become a leader and advocate for incoming physical educators by running workshops on teaching in limited space at staff in-services and conferences, assisting with new teacher orientations, developing online courses, and other initiatives.  Moreover, I have experience writing curriculum from scratch and writing published information specific to physical education in state and nationally recognized publications and websites.  In addition, I have created a niche as a physical education specialist who fuses technology and primary instructional subjects into physical education lessons.

This conglomerate of experience in multiple settings, my knowledge of my subject matter, my love for teaching youth, and my approach to educating allows me to use a variety of strategies in order to translate content to children in a way that is authentic and educates the whole child.  This allows students to become productive and successful human beings and citizens. In addition, I am able to teach students lessons that are true to what my familiarity is with being a successful, productive, hardworking, empathetic, organized, and communicative Teacher.
